The Cammarch was built in 1864 by the railway and you can still travel by train today between Shrewsbury and Swansea, you need to put your hand out to stop the train though. Llangammarch Wells is one of three spa towns to be found in the locality (although we are only a village). It was quite famous in it's day, not only for 'taking the waters' but for horse sales, fishing, shooting and walking. Local folk law tells that George V, when he was Prince of Wales, used to meet his cousin Wilhelm in the village where they would partake of the waters and enjoy the fishing and shooting. It is also believed that we were the last place in Wales to hold a wife sale! All that aside, the Cammarch is a great place to unwind, guests often remark on how wonderfully quiet it is and how they immediately feel relaxed and refreshed. We do like to provide a relaxed and friendly environment and we are dog friendly as well, so you can bring your 'best friend' too. Our guests usually enjoy mingling with the locals in the bar after dinner and they can point you to places of interest and natural beauty in the surrounding area.
